Who we are

Genogram Builder is operated by Northpine Labs LLC (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].

What the service is

Genogram Builder is a drawing tool for making genograms (family diagrams) for education and documentation. It runs in your web browser. It is not a clinical record system or an electronic health record, it does not give clinical, legal or medical advice, and we do not sign business associate agreements (BAAs). Follow your school’s or agency’s rules for where client information may be stored.

No account, and your chart stays with you

• You don’t need an account to build, save, export or pay.
• Your genogram is built, saved and exported in your browser. It autosaves in this browser’s local storage, and you can download it as a .genogram file. We never receive the chart, so we cannot recover it for you.
• Clearing your browser’s site data deletes the autosaved chart. Keep a downloaded .genogram file if the work matters to you.
• You own what you draw. We claim no rights to your genograms or the files you export.

Free use and passes

The editor is free, with no limit on people or generations. The free export is a PNG with a diagonal “Draft” watermark. Clean exports (no watermark) need a pass:

• Assignment pass: $12, one time. Clean PDF, PNG and SVG exports for 30 days from payment, on Letter, A4, Legal or Tabloid paper in either orientation, with a title block and de-identified copies (initials or roles). Unlimited re-exports during those 30 days.
• Practice year: $39, one time. Everything in the Assignment pass for 12 months from payment, plus a black-and-white print style.

Both are single payments. Nothing renews and there is no subscription to cancel: a pass simply ends at the end of its term. Prices are in US dollars; your bank may add its own fees for foreign currency.

How a pass works

• Payment is handled by Stripe Checkout. We never see or store your card number.
• After payment, this browser keeps your pass: a cookie that holds your Stripe Checkout Session id, signed by our server. When you export, our server asks Stripe whether that payment is complete, not refunded, and still within its term.
• We also show an access link after payment. Opening it on another device or browser turns the pass on there too. Anyone who has the link can use your pass until it ends, so keep it private, like a password.
• Lost the link and cleared your cookies? Write to [email protected] from the email address you paid with, and we will help you get your pass back.
• A pass is for you. Please don’t share or resell it, and don’t try to get around the watermark or the pass check; we may stop a pass that is clearly being shared widely, and refund it.

Refunds

If Genogram Builder isn’t useful to you, write to [email protected] within 14 days of paying and we refund the full amount, no questions asked. A refunded pass stops unlocking clean exports. Details are on the refunds page.

Acceptable use

Use Genogram Builder lawfully. Don’t attack, overload or probe the service, don’t use it to harass anyone, and only enter information about other people that you are allowed to use (for example, a de-identified client family, or your own family for a class assignment).

Our responsibility

We work to keep the editor correct and available, but it is provided “as is”. We do not promise that a chart meets a particular course rubric or agency standard; check your instructor’s or agency’s key. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes never take away a pass you already bought before it ends.
